Est. in Meridian, Mississippi
Vimville Volunteer Fire Department has stood ready to serve Meridian and surrounding communities — responding with courage, training, and a commitment that goes beyond the call.
Who We Are
Vimville Volunteer Fire Department isn't a government agency — it's a collection of everyday people from Meridian who chose to show up when their neighbors need them most. Firefighters, teachers, mechanics, retirees. The common thread is commitment.
Located at 2348 Long Creek Road, our station has been a quiet presence in the community for over a decade. We respond to structure fires, vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, and hazardous material calls — and we train for them every week, because readiness isn't optional when lives depend on it.
What sets us apart isn't just the equipment or the training (though we invest heavily in both). It's the fact that the person behind the wheel of our engine lives down the road from you. They know the streets, the shortcuts, and the families we're protecting.
What We Do
Rapid deployment to residential and commercial fires. Our crew trains continuously on modern fire suppression techniques and structural assessment to protect what matters most.
Many of our volunteers are certified EMTs and paramedics. We provide first-response medical care while coordinating with ambulance services to ensure patients receive timely treatment.
Highway and road accidents are among our most frequent calls. We respond with extrication tools and medical support to stabilize scenes and assist injured parties until specialized help arrives.
We bring fire prevention education to schools, community centers, and local organizations. From smoke alarm installation to escape plan workshops — prevention saves lives.
Lockouts, animal rescues, flood assistance, and welfare checks — we're here for the calls that don't make the news but matter deeply to the people in our community.
Trained and equipped to respond to hazardous material incidents including gas leaks, chemical spills, and environmental threats — containing danger before it spreads.
Get Involved
Vimville VFD is staffed entirely by volunteers — people who leave their jobs, miss dinners, and sleep with one eye open so that Meridian has a safety net when disaster strikes. We're always looking for committed individuals who want to make a tangible difference.
No experience required — we provide all training. If you're dependable, physically capable, and willing to serve, we want to hear from you.
Donations fund equipment upgrades, training programs, and community outreach. Every contribution keeps our response capabilities strong.
Fire prevention workshops, station tours, and community safety days — check our schedule and stop by. Seeing the work firsthand changes everything.
